Alice on God
Alice has recently developed a fascination for God.
While reading a story together, I showed her a picture and explained, "See, this is the little girl's Papa." Right away she began to strongly protest, "No, Mama, Papa there!" (Pointing to Tino sitting at his computer)
"Yes, baby, your Papa is there, but this man is the Papa of the little mermaid."
She began to get desperate and teary-eyed, "No, Mama, no, Papa THERE!"
"Ok, ok, yes, Papa is there".
After a few moments of silence, she turns to me, eyes wide and bright, as if she just found the perfect solution to our little dillema. Pointing to the picture she triumphantly exclaimed, "Mama, this God!"

We were watching the construction happening by our house. There's a digger that she particularly likes. (Go figure, my girly-girl is crazy about machines). While watching the workmen, we noticed that a older man was also watching from the other side of the field with his little grandson. I brought her attention to this, "Look, there's a little boy with his grandpa watching too."
She began to correct me saying, "No, mama, grandpa bye-bye car!"
"Yes, YOUR grandpa is bye-bye in the car, but this is the grandpa of that little boy there."
And once again, "No, mama, that God!"

Another time, after having been sick, I explained to her that Jesus had healed her because we prayed. She wouldn't accept that, and insisted that it was God that had healed her instead.

Yesterday Tino and I were sitting on the couch watching something while Alice was playing nearby. She must have gotten bored and wanted us to give attention to her instead of the video. She carried her stool to the couch, placed it infront of me, got up on it so that she was standing just above me, shook her little finger at me and proclaimed, "God says stop!"

It's been awhile...
Hadn't touched my camera in forever and I started to get that feeling where you just have to go out and shoot some pix.
My biggest complaint with our camera (well, besides the way it functions in low-light and the fact that it gets horribly grainy at only 200 ISO) is that it's only 5 megapixles, which is small for a DSLR, and with us only having a wide-angle lense, macro photography is not easy -tho it seems to be the type I wander to most often.
The only way I can manage to do some form of macro is to take the shot zoomed out (so that it can actually focus) and then crop the image as best I can to make the apprearance of "macro". One of the main problems with that is that you lose all the definition/sharpness you would have been able to get from shrinking the picture. Oh well, we may end up getting some better lenses. YAY!
So, nothing too spectacular, but here's a few:

Alice's Birthday
Guess there's no better place to start than with the birthday of our princess. She's most definitely entered those "terrible twos", but she more than compensates for it with her cute talk and lots of hugs and kisses.

She absolutely adores "Pooh Bear" so we made her a Pooh cake, which she ended up not wanting to eat (duh, why would she wanna eat Pooh) but she had plenty of ice-cream, and everyone else thoroughly enjoyed the delicious cake that "Nonna" (Tino's mom) made.
It was impossible to get a shot of her blowing out the candles. We actually re-lit them 3 or 4 times and had her blow 'em out over and over trying to get a shot of it (of course, she loved it!). In the end we just put it on video cam and filmed it.
Here's a few shots that my wonderful hubby managed to catch.
